Winterhawk will once again be offering its popular two week basics seminar program in 2012.  It?s for those with limited time?those that are unable to attend the 45 day course but are still interested in experiencing the Flattops Wilderness and learning the basics of our program in an introductory course.  Many of the students participating in the two week seminar will follow up the following year to complete the remainder of the coursework required for the 45 day session. 

Some of the topics covered include: Introductory or intermediate riding lessons; Basic horsemanship; Horse health care; Wilderness survival; Outdoor photography; Outdoor and camp cooking; Conservation; National Forest Service use and regulations; Outdoor recreation industry employment opportunities.  This is a great two week horseback learning vacation in the majestic Rocky Mountains of western Colorado.
