Whether catching cutthroat and brook trout by the dozen in one of the crystal clear streams, or landing bruisers in a blue alpine lake, there are opportunities for everyone. Fish some of Colorado’s finest waters for native wild cutthroat, brook trout, and rainbow trout June through September. Ride through spectacular high country and enjoy superb Colorado fishing, the finest horses, comfortable camps, excellent meals, and personalized service Winterhawk is noted for. Winterhawk customizes fishing trips to meet the individual desires and needs of our fly fishing guests. Indian Cliffs Base Camp sits 9,200 feet high at the end of a four-wheel drive road on the edge of the Flat Tops Wilderness. It’s a convenient, comfortable camp, and we ride out to fish each day. Or we’ll pack into one of our remote camps, like 11,000 foot Island Lake, where the scenery is as spectacular as the fishing. Some of our guests choose to spend several days in both locations. From base camp to remote backcountry camps, Winterhawk finds the perfect balance of comfort and rustic wilderness charm. Carpeted wall tents with wood burning stoves accommodate guests, and the home-cooked meals are always satisfying to begin or end a day of fishing, riding, and soaking in the unmatched Flat Tops scenery. Trips are from one to eight days and are fully guided. Deluxe drop camps are also available for fishermen who are comfortable in the wilderness and would rather fish on their own. Another option is the Fly Fishing School that Winterhawk offers.
