Guided Trout Fishing Trips

Winterhawk offers fully guided trout fishing trips to meet the individual desires and needs of our fly fishing guests. Indian Cliffs Base Camp sits 9,200 feet high at the end of a four-wheel drive road on the edge of the Flat Tops Wilderness. It’s a convenient, comfortable camp, and we ride out to fish each day. Or we’ll pack into one of our remote camps, like 11,000 foot Island Lake, where the scenery is as spectacular as the fishing. Some of our guests choose to spend several days in both locations.

Trips are from one to eight days and are fully guided.

Indian Cliffs Base Camp (9200' Elevation)
Located at the end of the road at the edge of the Flat Tops Wilderness Area, you can enjoy excellent stream, beaver pond and high country lake fishingfrom this camp. We ride out to fish each morning, and return to the base camp in the evening. It is our only camp that can be reached by four-wheel drive. It's convenient and comfortable, and a hot shower can be sure to feel good at the end of a great day of riding and fishing. A fly tying table is available for your use.

Island Lake Pack-In Camp (11,000' Elevation)
This one of our most remote camps, accessible by horseback and pack-string only. Fishing is within easy walking distance and other lakes and streams are accessible by horseback in this area. The scenery here can only be described as spectacular and the fishing is superb. Because of the renoteness of this camp, a minimum four-day trip is required.

Combination Indian Cliffs Base Camp & Island Lake Pack-In Camps
This plan combines the Indian Cliffs Base and Island Lake Pack-In camps. We generally spend a couple of days fishing from base camp, then fish our way to Island Lake Pack-In Camp. The number of days each place is up to you. This is a great opportunity to fish a variety of Colorado's finest waters and enjoy some of the Rocky Mountains most Magnificent scenery.
5 Day Trip $1400.00 per person
7 Day Trip $1800.00 per person

Camps are full-service and include meals, lodging and guides. All camps are furnished with a Motorola 2-way radio for safety, convenience and 24 -hour communication with our base camp. A 50% deposit is required to reserve and confirm your trip.
